About Me
Yes, I'm the car geek behind this here website (forums) and here is my story...
I've lived a pretty boring car life starting out in a V6 VN then moving onto another VN (V8) bogan mobile before my first interaction with an import, a twin turbo JZA80 Supra. After that first virginal drive, that was it, I was hooked! I needed no more convincing of the boosty goodness that only an import can provide.
I drove my missus nuts going on and on about the Supra until one day I finally broke her down and she 'let' me buy one
From that moment on I did nothing except eat, sleep and shit Supras! I knew more about that car, while waiting for it's importation (through Geoff and Prestige Motorsports) than my friend who had owned his Supra for two years prior.
The Supra stayed bog stock for a number of years while I planned and schemed my evil plan for Supra world domination. Then finally, about 12 months ago, I bit the bullet and took the car off the road to start on the 'Money Pit' project. From that point on I guess my number plates 'SYONARA' would become more appropriate than I had ever imagined. Now I could also say 'Sayonara' to both my life, money and any kind of a financially stable future
Woohooo, freedom!!!! LOL
Thus far, I have 'invested' some +$30K into the Supra with no end in sight to the mod list. It's an addiction, I admit, and those who know me well know that every time I dare to venture onto the internet I'm sure to find the next must have bad ass mod for the beloved Supra and hence the never ending money pit saga is fueled...
Hang on though, this is a JZX Forum right? I better mention the Chaser then I guess...
The Chaser came into our lives when the wifes daily driver, the then V8 VN Commodore, shat itself and we began to look for our next 'family' car. While she was adamant that we were going to get a sensible car it was soon pretty clear that nothing but an import would suit our needs and more importantly satisfy our desires. And, the Chaser fit the bill perfectly!
I wanted to import again, as we did with the Supra, but since time was a limiting factor that was out of the option. So, instead, I searched high and low locally until a prime example was found in Canberra in the form of a tidy 1996 TRD spec JZX100 Chaser Tourer V in Dark Green (almost black
).
Finances were organize and a mechanic mate of mine (AKA Fish) and I flew down to Canberra to inspect the beast. All was good, money was exchanged and a road trip like no other was undertaken from Canberra back to little ol' Adelaide with the Chaser being 'road tested' and put through the paces ALL the way home!
Since the Supra is still an ongoing project the Chaser has been left on the back burner for the time being. That's not to say I haven't got plans for it, because OH BOY do I have plans for it
Stay tuned...
