Today Ross and I made a bit of progress with the chaser, i spent a few hours during the week removing all removable bits from the engine bay so that i can paint it. We drilled out the spot welds holding on the piece of chassis rail on the front cut that i have in the shed that i will need to replace the bent rail on the car. I then marked it out where i wanted to cut it and cut it near the strut tower with a 5" grinder and 1mm cutting blade. I then drilled out the spot welds holding the bent piece of chassis rail on the chaser, made a cardboard template of where i had cut the chassis rail off the front cut in relation to where the holes are in the rail and used the template to mark out where to cut the bent piece of rail off the chaser. After doing a bit of panel beating of the useable pieces on the car the new piece of rail is ready to be cleaned up and welded into place once my radiator support kit turns up.
