Hello, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what size speakers go into the series 1 JZX100 series chaser. I have recently purchased a 97 model from Japan which is about 3 weeks away from getting to me (has been a long wait) and I am wanting to get the stereo sorted out. If anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated as I am new to Toyota having only ever owned Nissan Skylines.
Thankyou,
Michael

Hey mate ive changed my splits for some rockford fosgate splits
You can cut out the stock ones with a knife and then just screw right into the ring around the stock woffer and it is as easy as that

It's all pretty easy, just be careful if you put an amp in. The amp under the passenger seat actually supplies power to the head unit and if you remove it without bridging two wires under the seat you'll be scratching your head for a while!!!

Thanks for that, pics of that would be much appreciated as I will be getting type r splits as well. I already have 12" type x sub to go in, 2 V12 amps and new alpine head unit. Also I was wondering what speakers can fit in the rear.

here we go, shit quality but im sure you can get the idea. Also be careful when removing the electric window switches as they are very tricky, you must pry them out gently from the end that points to the rear of the car.

Break away the existing speaker supports using any old pair of side cutters or the like.

Remove the existing tweeter and replace it with your alpine one, i mounted mine by drilling a hole in the bracket and mounting the tweeter using the appropriate screw.

Thats awesome, that gives me a good idea of what Im up against. Also can you tell me if you have replaced speakers in the back? Will 6x9's fit in the back parcel shelf or are ther speakers in the back doors? I can't quite see them on the photos of my new car. Just 2 weeks to go.

Oh, I thought that only the MK2 had that. I will probably try to put 6x9's in the parcel shelf anyway.
