Here's a diagram which shows basically where the ECU is located (note the boxes showing aren't the ECU , purely to show location):

Now with this in mind lets get cracking with the glove compartment:

You want to remove these two panels (underneath the glove compartment 4 clips that need to be removed + screws)

Inside the glove compartment on the top far right and far left you'll have screws to remove - also you'll notice the little extended section on far right which is closer to the stereo - pop the circular cover and remove the screw then your glove compartment is ready to come out.

should be able to see the black air duct - that leads under the seat venting to the rear

If you have a multimeter then it would be much more accurate (which I realized when I saw the loom, thought hmmm I really don't want to f**k this up hah)
