Blown amp or fuse?

hi,

Jzx100 FACTORY HEADUNIT

Stupid me, I cut the factory head unit loom and blew a fuse or something on the left passenger side. I forgot to undo the battery!! When i cut the loom, a spark happened on the left side near the glove box. I checked all the fuses near that area.. i can smell something burnt. i see two only 2 normal fuses that are ok but 5 that are not used. I swear im getting dumber as i get older.... thought it was the opposite.

12V tested the wires and the red/blue that is the remote for the amp has no signal.. everything else is OK!

Ive checked all the fuses on the drivers side OK, passenger side OK, engine fuse box, OK

is there a fuse on the amp?


What the hell is going on?? Can anyone be of assistance before I call an electrician

try switching the left speakers to the right output to make sure its between the amp/speakers and not the headunit
not much help but thats where i'd start

im talking bout a blown fuse or short circuit near the glove box area

Ok as far as I know there are no fuses on that side near the glovebox.. When I did my stereo install for amp I blew a fuse as well when I tested it not realizing the other wires in the loom were touching and from what I can remember it was either in the engine bay or driverside... Dome light one maybe? Or try open the amp up and look inside that for a fuse.

yup there are a few fuses to the left side but u have to take out the glovebox then you will see it next to the throttle control unit. wheres the dome fuse? ta

Yea maybe but I doubt it's one of those.. Do all your interior lights work??

yes everything else works as normal including all lights.. when it was cut, i saw a light go off near the glovebox.. maybe the wire blew and created a flash. im thinking its blown the standard amp or the wire has blown...
