hey guys
i've been reading up about free to air subs the last week, because i want a bit more doof doof, but wanna keep the boot space, so i was looking at getting a sub in the rear parcel shelf where the stock one goes
i know that the stock one is an 8", so question is will a 10" or 12" fit into the spot without too much hassle
has anyone done it before, im guess there would have been and did you need a spacer of some sort for it to fit
and does anyone know where i can get a free to air sub, ie sub that doesnt need a box to work well
havent been able to find any online yet
only reason for the rear parcel shelf sub, is cause i've read in a couple of threads that when theres a sub in the boot the sound has trouble coming into the cabin, i dont really want a muflled bass sound..

Can be done using spacers. 10" subs can fit in the 8" using spacers.
People tend to use that really light weight wood and just use a jigsaw

If you're willing to sacrifice you spare wheel and build a custom box you can get good bass in the cabin.

i was planning on using that spare wheel space to put my amp in there, and just running a 10" sub in the pacel shelf
oh was also thinking bout where to mount my tweeters for the rear, i was thinking of mounting them behind the the rear passenger headrests
i picked up some jaycar splits real cheap

don't put tweeters in the back, unless you want to deafen your passengers and or screw your soundstage

Why dont you just get a 12" slim sub and have it sitting right up against the boot... take the original sub out (if you have one) and let the bass goodness come through.
Obviously you cant put your seat down and they are around 10cm or so thick. Got one in my wifes Prelude and she can still access her spare wheel.

I just put an 8 inch sub in the rear stock hole and getting Westside Car audio in Perth to do a custom box for me that wont mess with the space at all in the rear (i wont even see it). \
I got a Focal 8 inch or something i think..... getting car back today so should be awesome!
