I think I might be suffering from this slightly already I noticed today when just cruising along on very light throttle at 60kph there is a very slight stutter, was going to get Trojan to look at it when we do the next run could be something in the map or it Might still just be from the stock leads.

More likely to be a lean spot caused by incorrectly set injector deadtime figures in the PFC for the voltage when the altnerator gets hot. Can easily have a full AFR point swing when the voltage changes.

You configure the deadtime figures in the powerfc by connecting up a heavy duty DC power supply in place of the alternator in the workshop, then running the car through the full voltage range from 14.5V through to 10V and adjust the deadtime at each step so the AFR remains consistant.

Cheers for the advice CHA54 I'll get them to check it out when it goes back in. or is it something that should really be looked at straight away?

it's something very few tuners bother to set unless the aftermarket injectors are supplied with deadtime charts for whatever fuel pressure you're running. They usually set a flat 1ms for deadtime and tell you they can "tune around it" :P

If your system voltage is rock solid and never changes at all it's not as much of an issue, but that is rarely the case with JZ alternators. You should have some idea of what the operating voltage range is from the FC hand controller. I'd guess it' varies between 13.2 and 14.2v depending on electrical load and heat.

My car with PFC does the same thing. Tuner said its to do with the injectors as CHA54 said. My tuner adjusted it so it happened later in the rev range (coz 50-60km/h was really annoying) but I've never bothered to get it properly fixed >_<

Haven't fitted it yet mate but they are the same dimensions as the Walbro pump which I have fitted now which was a straight drop in just need to change the plug I'm lead to believe it is a direct replacement for the walbro.

He may have been refering to the DW pumps not coming with an install kit, so a new plug would need to be sourced as the factory toyota connector wont fit, but walbro is the same.

so a proper DW pump that comes with an install kit will have the proper plug to connect it up? how much for one?

Hey mate

I ordered from powertune in Sydney but it must have been there last one because they no longer have a listing

http://www.prospeedr...VO-4%252d6.html After much googling I found this place who has them and although it lists it as a kit for an evo, when you look at the contents it says universal install kit, which should work in the jzx100 they also sell the universal walbro install kit for $25 which will work.

Also noticed they have the Walbro 400lph for sale heard a few good things about them as well.
