18mm and 8mm MDF, no clearance issues. Only thing with MDF is that you'll have to make them weather proof. No needed if you live in tropical weather.

Hey guys,

What mounting depth do those speakers have?
I've found a few sets of speakers I'm interested in, but trying to find out if they will fit in the rear.
I know other people have got Alpine 6.5" Type S in the rear and they have a mounting depth of 57mm or so.
Just wondering if there is much room left before I hit something.\

The 16mm spacers didnt fit by themselves, so I traced the stock mount onto 9mm MDF and cut it out and will screw them all together once the paint drys

Also had to trim the edges of the ring spacers to give room for the mounts into the doors.

This will be used with Alpine Type S 6.5 Coaxials.

Hey all i have just finished my jz100 audio install. Nothing over the top. 6.5 splits in the front in original positions and 6.5 mids in the rear doors amps in the boot under the mat in the right section. Right hand side was a pain in the ass as it was my first jz install. with the fuel tank in the back is a bit of a bitch. I went down to JB and got the wooden 16mm spaces they are 4 bucks each. glued 2 together for the rear door and used one for the front. Finished it off with some silicone for plugging the gaps to stop rattle and movement.

Worked heaps good and all that is left is the sub going in the original shelf spot. Got a guy who can make a fibreglass box then we are just going to use sound tape to stick it to the shelf. neat and not wood work for weight.
