Was fixing my speakers the other day, thought i'll post up the proper way to remove the trim since everyone has a broken window switch surround.

All you need is:
Flat head screwdriver
Philips Head screwdriver

Start with your door
Posted Image

Unscrew these 4 bolts at the bottom
Posted Image

On he side of the door, these 2 clips
Posted Image

Push the centre in with ur philipshead and they come out
Posted Image

Other side has two bolts covered by those circular thingys
Posted Image

The doorknob surround has to come out,
Use your fingernail to open the flap and unscrew the bolt
then stick the flathead like so and pry, then on the bottom aswell
Posted Image

The power window surround!
use the flathead to lift it up abit, stick the philips in there to hold it up
then use the flathead to push in a little clip at the south side.
easy
Posted Image

Unplug the switch harness
You can see the clip here and how it works
Posted Image

Unscrew that screw
Posted Image

Mirror cover has to come off too, use ur flathead like so.
Posted Image

now lift the bottom so slightly, then yank up!
Posted Image

Unplug the door light before u throw the trim

Done!, If you get hurt its your own fault

Haha good guide Charlie. I never thought of doing this even though I've had my trim off so many times, just shows how selfish I am.

I thought I'd add a little more to this already awesome thread :P
I was installing some 6.5inch type R and thought i'd take some snaps
So once you've taken off the trim you could be faced with something like this >>

... the last guy left it in an absolute mess.
So after giving it a bit of a clean up to get it ready for the new cross overs it looked a lot better.

Posted Image

These are the old crappy Pioneer's that felt like they were made out of beer cans with the junky inline cross overs.

the new alpine tweeters fitted in the factory location with a bit of work so I could get rid of the original tweeter bracket

And here's where i mounted the crossover

Anyone who ever has anything to do with removing any part of a car needs a set of these mofos...

Seriously, they'll make your life a gazillion times easier

rear speakers took about 15mins each door and all i needed to for the deeper Alpines was a thin spacer to clear the internal door hinge (used the factory/pioneer mounts front and rear)
