When the original thread referencing http://www.saikoumichi.com and their catch cans first appeared on the forums I was rather skeptical about their product.

While researching a catch can to suit my particular requirements I had seen so many variations on the same theme and yet most still felt very lacking. For one reason or another, most were no better than simply using a Coke can for the same purpose (no baffling, no filtration, no drain, cheap fittings, etc.)

Back to Saikou Michi though. I first contacted them and asked if they had anything that might suit my particular needs. I also told them that i didn't particularly like the push on hose fittings and preferred AN fittings instead. To my surprise, the reply came quick and very positive. They were eager to develop something that would suit my needs and just as quickly forwarded to me a proposed design.

While this initial design was very good I did have some slight changes that I wanted implemented. Again, the response was very quick and very positive; finally the new changes were to my satisfaction and a final design was agreed to. At which point, I placed my order ($140 USD delivered) and then expected to be waiting some time for the final product to be ready and available. Less than two weeks later my new custom catch can was at my door step.

Again, I was pleasantly surprised and extremely happy with the quality and attention to detail of me new Saikou Michi catch can (Stage 3 X-Modified Dual Inlet OCC). Not only did it come professionaly shrink wrapped in a protective plastic it was also powder coated a very nice matte black. Although you might think a user manual is a little redundant for a catch can, it was certainly a nice touch. The manual includes the usual warnings and operating instructions as well as a very cool tech drawing of the particular catch can too

Price wise it's very good value IMHO considering the two -10AN and single -12AN fittings are probably worth some $70 AUD on their own ;)

Onto the pics:

So the can drains the oil back to the sump?

The can doesnt vent to the atmosphere?

Yes, it has a drain which you can run to the sump if you like.

It has two -10AN inlets, one for each cam/valve cover, and a -12AN return which I will be plumbing back into the system pre-turbo. Thus making at least that part of my engine legal :-) Ill probably run a couple one way valves on the inlet side so if I get any compressor surge it won't try to pressurize the system in reverse. If that makes sense?

You could always vent the -12AN fitting to atmo with just a filter on the end of it if you really wanted to.

The HyperRev manifold and TB that should of been here this week certainly isn't random... lol
