Nah, if you use something fast, jigsaw/reciprocating saw, its not that bad.. It doest sorta melt it, but you can file that down.. Only thing that gives it away is how you cut it.
If its an even cut and you take your time It wont look like poo. I did my new front bar and you cant tell.
Where you cut the bumper, there is just black behind and it doesnt generally destory the point. I can get a pic of my old front bar if you wish?

Thanks mate,
It's been a long painfull journey to get to this point but it has really paid off. I am very pleased with the result and I just can't wait to drive it again and see how much power it makes.
I'll try and upload a video of it running soon
Unfortunately I'm only going to have it on the road for about 3 months before I take it off the road again for a full respray
So I'm going to have to make the most of that time.
And for anyones future information a bosch 044 is a bloody loud fuel pump.

Snoopz, if you could post a pic on my thread of your bumper that would be appreciated. I'd like to see how much you actually cut out.
I will post a pic of mine once I've cut it too to show people what is involved
Unfortunately I find this forum seems to have a lack of write ups on how to do things on our cars (like removing front bumpers etc). Maybe I could help to rectify this a bit considering I've almost ripped everything off inside my car and am slowly working on the outside.

deluce, I completely agree with you on the write-ups. I've done 2 write-ups but basic stuff hasnt been covered well enough. Im more then happy to remove something and show hows it done if you guys want to know something. I always figure it out and generally break something

Bit hard to tell, new phone doesn't have a very good camera. But this was done with a grinder with a grinding wheel. Same wheel I used to cut the re-inforcement bar:P
Too lazy to take off new bar, but I've cut half as much!

Hmmmm,
It seems you need to cut a lot less than I will. I have a blitz kit and from other pics that I've seen it seems there is a lot more to cutout. From what I've seen of CD1J's car which I believe has the same blitz kit, you need to basically cutout the whole cross section bit.
Here's some pics

deluce, i have the 044 as well with a custom surge tank. have you tried to insulate the pump? i have an intake coupler going around it to shield it a little from vibration and noise and its not too bad. you can definitely hear it from the outside, but i can barely notice it when i'm inside the car. i don't really care what my car sounds like from the outside as long as inside its good =)

I've got the Blitz V-Spec (102mm thick core)
Had to decimate my front bar - a couple of the horizontal bars have bugger all left (maybe 10mm).

When I said it was loud I meant outside the car. I haven't checked if it's audible inside the car, hopefully not or I will have to look at insulating it like you said.
The car was towed to the tuners shop yesterday around 5pm, the guy says he should have it done by the end of this week. Fingers crossed (although I'm not going to hold my breath, they're extremely busy)
