am currently in the middle of doing a manual conversion on a jzx100
just wondering what others that have done this conversion did about reverse lights and speedo?
any help with the wiring is greatly appreciated as i need to get this done before my second car runs out of rego

Since I went through this not to long ago Ill fill you in how we found out the wires, I would show you pictures but my camera was stepped on in the process...
EDIT: You didn't post about the neutral wire up, just came to mind. I was talking to Rasty and they informed me that the speedo operates off of the ABS computer (or something, my translation may be bad). I didn't have to do anything extra to get my speedo working. I have a 97 JZX100 Tourer V, with a 110 R154.
You need to solder/loop the neutral wires together to make the car think its in neutral, picture of auto connector is below. I went before the connector, stripped the two wires back and soldered them together them electrical taped it up. The pictures below shows which wires (or holes you can place a loop into).

To get the reverse lights working we spliced into the (Red/Blue) and (Red/Black) wires before the connector. We ran a black wire from (Red/Black) and a red wire from (Red/Blue) from the auto loom to the transmission. I don't think the wiring order matters, we just put the transmission into reverse and touched the two wires from the auto connector to the transmission wires and watched for the reverse light/sound to come on. We tried the wires both ways and it seemed to work.

Hope this helps, and the pictures were taking from here. (http://www.jzx100.co...12&st=0&start=0)
P.S. - The car will stall some times while using the clutch or staying in neutral (normally sitting at lights, or just dropping into neutral to coast) For me when the car normally starts falling below RPM I know its going to stall, so I leave it in gear and once it stalls just pop the clutch in and out. Others may advise against this but to me it's easier then turning the key (I don't know why...) If you have any more questions I will try to help. An aftermarket or manual ECU will fix the stalling randomly.

My mates and I have run numerous manual cars of auto ecu's and harnesses and have never had a stalling issue, so you might wan't to look into that as that isn't normal.

Now maybe normal isn’t the right term to use, as the car should just never stall. But I gathered my information about the auto ecu casing the stall from here and from Rasty. Now Rasty may just be saying it just to sell a 1400 PFC along with the transmission. But my experience was that prior to the Power FC ECU swap yesterday the car would randomly stall (talking maybe once every couple days) with the clutch pressed in too long or coasting around in neutral or sitting at light. Yesterday I swapped in the Power FC (what a shitty place for an ECU location by the way) and never have had an issue with the car stalling, hell maybe it’s too early to judge it. Now I don’t know why you and your friend’s haven’t had any problems, to be honest I wish I was in the same boat but it was stalling on me.

Well if you continue not having any problems with the power fc in there I guess you can narrow it down to your stock ecu being faulty. Hope that's the case for you.

there's been several people posting on how their converted auto to manual JZX100's randomly stall if left idleing too long so i don't think this is a unique case here. the problem seems to stem from the auto JZX100 ECU's ETCS controller, this problem never gets mentioned when refering to a JZX90 auto to manual conversion (while using the original auto ECU), obviously the JZX90 doesn't have ETSC, it has a simple TRC that can be completely turned off by the switch.
as you have already switched over to a Power FC, there should be no more stalling issues... and i agree with your comment, its a stupid place to put an ECU

ok put all back together but for some reason tacho and speedo don't work ?
checked all fuses and they are ok.dont think i missed any plugs when putting dash back in?
no plugs can be plugged onto wrong one can they was pretty sure they were all different
guess i get to pull the dash apart again tomorrow
anyone have any thoughts what it could be?

if both your speedo and tacho aren't working then it's probably just one of the 4 dash plugs not connected
