I'm picking up the full 5 speed swap for my JZX100 tomorrow. I will try to update pictures of the progression. It seems there isn't much info on it here, so i will post what i can.

Russell

Update: My car is now a five speed! I didn't take pictures due to time constraints. I might sit down and try to type out some info on the swap.

Good to hear.
I have recently completed my jzz30 auto to manual swap, again.

So heres a few things to remeber.
Get some new flywheel bolts as they are a one use item. about $100 for the set.
The spigot bearing is a $7-8 item from any clutch shop, or $20 from toyota. You may as well change the rear main seal while you are there, its good peace of mind $65. Toyota has recently stopped the sale of the MA70 clutch disc that was available for $58, its now $255. This disc was interchangeable with the jza70,jzz30 and jzx90/100 . The w58 box and the r154 share the same spline.

At a guess you will have to lenghten the front section of the tailshaft by 50mm , as we do on the Soarers, to compensate for the shorter auto box. $200

That will do, i dont want to ramble on , you have probably researched all this anyway. Good luck with it , you will love the change!

I've done a little research, but the guy i bought it from has done this before and says he has all the parts to make it work. He is giving me a new pilot bearing that is needed. But i'm going to have to pick up a new clutch because the one that i'm getting is pretty old. I also want to pick up a new release bearing.

i just converted my jzx90 from auto to 5mt last weekend using jzx100 parts. the swap was easy but i found many of the jzx100 manual parts to be slightly different to the jzx90, especially the tailshaft... i bought new flywheel bolts but didn't change the main seal as it looked like new anyway.
i'll try and sort out the neutral start switch over the weekend and hopefully it will be straight forward, how did you guys go with this? did you get a manual ECU or modify your auto one?
i imagine there's an electrical plug sold with the Rasty changeover kit that simply plugs into the loom where the auto trans was and bridges the necessary pins.

also, did you need to keep the various plugs for the park lockout (under the centre console) plugged in or not?

Are you in need of a JZX90 manual ECU? My kit comes with one that i won't be able to use. The neutral start switch should be easy to overcome also. I plan on using the auto ECU untill i can pick up a power fc

thanks Russell, but i didn't really want to buy a manual ECU as i plan to change over to a mapable one in the future.. (unless you want very little for it?). are you using the jzx90 as parts for your 100? because if you are, the centre bearing on the tailshaft is different between the 2. it looks like they have a slightly different floor pan, which explains why i had to cut and weld the 100 brake pedal to suit mine too.
actually if you need the 100 centre bearing then let me know as i have one here.

if the auto was shorter, you'd have to shorten the tailshaft for the longer manual...
but you have to lengthen the tailshaft for the shorter manual !! :)

anyway to alter the tailshaft in anyway is atleast $280 here in Adelaide

This guy swears that everything will work. I will be posting on here as i get the stuff and do it. I will probably installed the clutch pedal/master cylinder and brake pedal in my garage. That way i don't waste too much money when i'm on the lift.
