I'm searching around trying to find the best value controller at the moment, and was wondering what you guys are using? or would use/want.

I'm leaning towards an Apex'i AVC-R(black edition) at the moment.I haven't read anything negative about them, and they seem to be quite good value for money.

The Blitz Dual-SBC Spec R also sound good, and gets good reviews.

I'm wanting to eventually run quite high boost,so I want one to hold at least 22psi(using td06-25g or gt3040 turbo).

I'm looking to spend around $500(600 at the most) NZD for one.

Everyone I know with an AVC-R totally raves about it. I like my Blitz SBC i-D but it doesn't have anywhere near the number of features....

After having a chat with a few more people and getting more opinions,it sounds like the Blitz Spec R is a better option.Apparently the dual solenoid it has does a better job at than pretty much everything else,where-as the AVC-R doesn't sound as stable holding boost, and isn't as highly rated.

Blitz DSBC-R ftw?... seems that way.Does anyone on here use one of them?

I've got a G-Reddy Profec Type S that does the job. The Apexi AVC-R is very overrated. I've heard good things about the Blitz Spec R but I haven't had experience with one.

I have a Blitz Dual SBC, seems to work well, but I have no experience with any EBCs other than that one.

I had a Blitz SBC iD-III in my 180SX and it was very good. Boost control was rock solid (i never pushed beyond 14 psi though) and the graphing function was really helpful for setting up the gain for maximum response without spiking.

I read in HPI that HKS have released software that allows speed specific setting (amongst other things) of boost with their EVC. That for me was the biggest plus that the AVCR had going for it so the HKS number should be the goods with the superior solenoid it has. The price may be a killer though.

Overall i think the dual solenoid blitz numbers are the best compromise between cost and performance. The dual SBC spec R is pretty damn cheap as well and it really probably isn't worth forking out the extra coin for the screen on the iD range. Although i seem to remember that if you also get the iD speed meter you can map boost against speed as well?

I use an AVC-R at low boost of 15psi, and high boost of 20psi. It can be a bit fiddly to fine-tune, but once it's there, you really don't need to touch it, except to chenge between boost settings, which is only 4 button presses, and really easy.... The ability to change thae rate of boost climb, and the peak boost in each gear is alsoextremely useful, my 2wd brethren tell me :)

That said, Pretty much everyone I know with a turbo car uses one, which tells me 2 things:

1) They must be good,
2) they could be merely average, and we wouldn't have a clue, because we all use the same product!

If you're going to use a TD06 or Gt3040 wehich are both externally wastegated you will not need an EBC, can be adjusted with the wastegate. So put it toward a good manifold maybe
