Have been looking out for coilovers of late but there as so god damn many out there its quite hard to make a decision.
So basically what I was thinking was to get everyones own personally expirence/opinion with the different coilovers on the market for both jzx90 & jzx100. This should be able to help out everyone looking to buy or upgrade.
So please follow the below table.
Car: eg (jzx90/jzx100)
Brand: eg (hks/tein/ etc.)
Model:eg (hipermax, mono flex, etc.)
Spring rates: eg (14kg Front 8kg Rear)
dampening adjustment: eg (Yes/No)
Price:
Would you recommend these for a street car: eg (Yes/No & why)

I will kick it off
Car: JZX100
Brand: Greddy
Model: Performance Damper
Spring rates: 12kg Front 6kg Rear
dampening adjustment: Yes 32 LEVELS!!!
Price: $2000
Would you recommend these for a street car: Yes
Comments: I find these coilovers the best compromise for a street car. On the softest setting, its just a tiny bit harder then stock, but its almost unnoticeable. On the hardest setting, it is quite hard and very good balance for track work.

Car: JZX90
Brand: JIC
Model: ??
Spring rates: 14kg front 10kg rear (i think.. i want to go get them dynoed.. they seem stiffer than that)
Dampening Adjustment: Yes
Price: $1000 S/H
Would you recommend these for a street car: Yes.. because i havent had anything to complain about yet.. I had a set of JIC's on my old Celsior.. and they held the barge exceptionally well.. and for such a reasonable purchase price.. you cant go wrong
Comments: Also camber adjustable

Car: JZX90
Brand: HSD
Model: HR
Spring rates: unsure. standard
dampening adjustment: 15
Price: $750 2nd hand
Would you recommend these for a street car: Yes
Comments: My full name is Bang For Buck, as are these coilovers. not ur top brand name, not ur top top quality stuff, but its still good quality, definately good enough for the street, regular daily driving and possibly some novice track work. so unless ur doing trackwork these are fine. I dont have a complain abt it at all,esp when comparing to prices of others.

I have these too, I am lazy though so same comments really. I have mine set halfway, best compromise between comfort for street and spirited driving!!
I got mine for $1000 tho
Mine were set on the hardest setting from factory, when I first drove it I was like hell NO!! But wound it to half way and much better....

Car: JZX100 Chaser
Brand: TRD
Model: TRD Coilovers
Spring Rates: 14kg Fronts, 8kg Rears
Damper Adjustable: Yes, 5way
Price: Came with car, but I believe they are expensive
Recomend for Street Car?: Yep
Comments: I got these coilovers with the car, they were on the hardest setting. Which isn't hard enough for my liking. Thinking about upgrading to JIC 16kg fronts and 10kg rears. But these coilovers are fantastic, such a smooth firm ride (on the hardest setting). Everyone that jumps in says, this is real nice! It handles the good ole spirited driving sessions too. Would recomend to anyone wanting a good ride.
cheers,
Kyrin

Car: JZX90 Mark II
Brand: Tein
Model: HA
Spring Rates: 8kg Fronts, 8kg Rears
Damper Adjustable: Yes
Price: Came with car, around 1500 new (without edfc)
Recomend for Street Car?: Hell yeah! handles awesome
Comments: The Tein's are sold and serviced by Fulcrum in Aus so you dont have to send them away for ages to get them recod. you can get the EDFC for track work if you want (bout $900 i think). full height, and damper adjustable and their green!
Had them for 2 years and not even a rattle.

Car: jzx100
Brand: hks
Model: hipermax old school
Spring rates: 10/6
dampening adjustment: yes
Price: On car specials
Would you recommend these for a street car: Yeah great for driving around day to day. Not hard at all.
Comments: My opinion... Complete shit if you want to drive your car hard. Far too soft even when cranked to max hard. Also they're only platform adjustable, not full tap so the lower you go the less shock travel you have (My shit is low). They will be up for sale soon. Just need to get a diff first.
