Hi all,

After some info on timing belt tension, I did my timing belt about two years ago but there has been something thats always bugged me just haven't got around to doing anything about it.

Pretty much the timing belt doesn't seem 100% tight more like 95%, the reason I say this is I am able to slide the belt with a moderate amount of pressure with my hand back and forth on the cam gears. I would imagine it should be impossible to slide once it's completely tensioned? Also the tdc marks on both gears appear about 1/4 of a tooth clockwise past the timing marks, which could easily be explained by the belt not been tight enough....

The engine runs fine and has been for the past two years but yeah with all my plans over the next couple of weeks I want to make sure everything is 100% perfect!

A new tensioner was installed when I did the timing belt.

How many kms has it done since you did the belt and tensioner?

better safe than sorry I reckon! I think I'll pull it apart tomorrow

Can anyone please just confirm that there exhaust and intake cams line up dead on the timing marks or not? and if there was any slack in the belt what so ever
