I bought some 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber vinyl a while ago with the plan of doing my mates Supra dash using the stuff. But, as my luck would have it, I ended up having some surgery on my left Ulnar Nerve and my left arm was pretty much out of action for quite some time (even now it's only about 50% recovered). Then, my mate decides to sell his car as he's now got a company car so I figured I won't waste my time doing his dash as I won't get to enjoy it myself anyway :)

Instead, boredom set in yesterday and my son and I decided to give the Chaser dash a go instead. Here are the results...

We've still got all the door window controls to do but they should be pretty easy as they're mainly flat anyway.

The 3M stuff is pretty easy to work with once you get the hang of it and realize you can heat the hell out of it and make it conform however you like. Just make sure the surface you are applying it to has been cleaned nicely and you should be good to go.

In terms of tools, all we used was a craft knife (scalpel style) and my wife's hairdryer (coz I don't haz no hairz on mah noggin)

Looks great.

I suppose for a wet carbon look you can apply some resin and catalyst for that shiny look.

You could try clear coating it I guess but I like the dry look actually. When installed in the car it matches the S1 grey dash very nicely IMHO. The OEM CF looks like shiny plastic compared to this stuff.

I picked up a 54" x 54" roll off eBay for about $165 AUD delivered I think it was. Same stuff here in OZ through various retailers/distributors seems to be WAY overpriced :(

Just make sure whatever length you get it's 54" wide otherwise it's probably a knock off product.

There's also a primer you can get for really tight curves (I didn't bother with it) but that costs almost $100 for 1L.
