How the fcuk do you remove the cigarette lighter from the dash trim? There are tabs to be pressed in and what not but they don't budge. The cig lighter rotates around 1 or 2 mm but that's it. I'm not in the mood to snap shit off with my usual heavy handed tactics so any help would be appreciated

There's on beefy tab and one smaller one. I'd press them in but I'm worried about snapping the bastards off (like usual)
Oh well, there's no glory without a bit of pain.... here goes!

OK, pressed the tabs in, starting with the big ass one while pressing on top of the assembly which got one side to pop out slightly. The, pressed in the smaller tab and go the cig lighter to pop through. But now, it's stuck half way because of the electrical connector bit which sticks out to the side...
This is where I'm at right now.

DONE it!
What you need to do is twist the grey connector, with the back cover under neath it, to remove the connector and bulb + the black cover.
Then, you'll need a 7mm socket to remove the bolt on top (back of) the cigarette lighter.
Once that's removed, you'll be able to twist the inner metal section around and pull it out from the front of the dash piece and then pass the rest of the plastic surround through the front as well
Just remember which way around the brass connector goes
That's gotta be the most complex cigarette lighter assembly in the history of complex cigarette lighter assemblies. They probably give it to Guantanamo Bay terror suspects to put together as a form of inhumane torture!
