Current setup aimed at grip/time attack.

17x9 +22 Volk TE37s all round wearing 225/45 Federal RSRs. Negative 3 degrees camber all round (still suffering from OUTER shoulder camber wear on track ie. need more negative camber).

interested in knowing why you chose a low offset & stretched tyre combo for "grip/time attack"? I'm no expert but your comments make no sense to me. You want grip so you're dialling in camber to drive on the inner sidwalls in the hope that it stops wearing away the outer sidewalls when you leaning hard on it?

I'm not being a smartarse, this is just not a setup and promotes grip at all as far as i know?

For one thing, your tyre isn't even approved for your rim width: http://www.federalty...ormance/595rs-r

Driving on slightly stretched tyres gives way better feel and response than tyre bulge. More than negative 3 seems a lot though adam?

I honestly didn't have a choice of wheel sizes at the time, it was a straight swap for a set of 34gtr wheels I couldn't turn down and I'm simply just working with what I've got at the moment.

And tyre selection was due to the fact I couldn't fit anything wider underneath. Again, just working with what I've got.

As for camber settings, exactly what you're saying. I [was wanting to] increase camber which sacrifices straight line grip but 'should' give me more corner grip. I'm currently only running standard turbo and basic mods, I can't lose traction in a straight line unless I'm taking off from 1st gear lol

I'm no pro.. Since that post, I've actually noticed that negative 3 degrees camber is spot on. Adjusting tyre pressures during the last track day has improved tyre wear and grip all round.

Yeah that's understandable. I'm running a 225/40 on an 18x8.5 which is perfectly fine for the street but at Wakie it was a bit crap. Even when I had semis in the same size you could tell that the stretch wasn't doing any favours for mid-corner grip. I'd love to try a 235/255 combo on narrower rims at Wakefield and see how it goes.

I definitely wanna try and fit something wider underneath, I was thinking a 235/255 setup at least on my next set of wheels and seeing how that goes.

The current setup im running has been the only one I've tested out on track so I cant say how well or shit it did, but it felt awesome after finding the right pressure for my driving and I guess being able to keep up with other jzx guys on track who are running 18s and wider rubber... I guess I will only find out how it really performs when I try another setup.

F: 18X9 +32 225/40/18 "Indoradials" (came on wheels)
R: 18X9 +20 same tires as fronts

No mods to fit, doesn't rub, will need when I get my new coils and go lower (Height adjust is frozen on current Teins)

i got similar specs (+30) and doesnt scrub at all now that guards were rolled, + slightly lower springs.
