Hi guys.

Im setting up my chaser for drifting and really want a set of cams. being vvti im finding it difficult to find 272 cams or bigger for it. i would like to keep the vvti. im waiting on my power fc to arrive and have been told this can control the cams.

what brands are people using?
what sizes?
do you need spring and retainers?
where are people getting them from?
do they require a control unit?

any help would be much appreciated as i would like to get them asap. cheers

i would imagine any bigger then 272 cams would outflow the head by a mile

and any 1jz exhaust cam fits , its only vvti one that you need specific vvti one
only need a controller if you have std ecu and want to fine tune it

is a good idea to change the 10+ yr old springs and retianers while the cams are out + do stem seals

so i found a place that says they can machine a 272 vvti cam from a 2jz and make it fit the 1jz.
has anyone had any experience with this? i think it sounds good for 1100 bucks a pair, but dont know if there are any disadvantages.

hks only make a 264 vvti intake cam. this way you have a 272 intake vvti cam and 272 exhaust cam, also they have 9.9mm of lift

$850-1100 per cam also isn't too cheap unluckily.

$1100 a pair though, that ain't bad! :aggressive:
