I previously used Bayside Performance services for my haltech install and tune, he's a decent tuner but a bit to casual about his buisness, probably not the best bet for a jzx as he has only tuned two and still doesnt really know his way around them. The haltech install was nice and tidy though, theyre pretty good in that aspect.

There are alot of good tuners around though. Another good one I know of but haven't used persoally is EFI at stapylton. My mate took his 34 there and was pretty happy, I spoke to the guys there a few times and they seemed to take there work seriously, something that is becoming less common in the industry. Also they had (may still have) the fastest 1JZ powered car in aus, so that's something.

Godzilla tune on the conservative side of things, Mark does nice safe tunes. Bayside are really good with tuning vvt engines. I'd like to take my car to EFI and see if they can screw anymore torque out of it

my previous experience has been with microtech and rotors so it doesnt directly apply to our toyota's but Dalton Automotive in Geelong, Victoria's tune was a little slow lower in the revs but came on hard in the mid range and pulled really well to the limiter 230 rwkw 13psi (500/1600cc injecrors) then it went to Promaz for retune with 4x 1000cc injectors- much smoother drivabillity and sharper response but lost a bit up top 210rwkw 13psi (down 2-3 mph on the 1/4) i know different dynos blah blah but thats my experiance.

Chris Dalton will only tune microtech- i know hes done a number of soarers and supras but not sure on vvt-i.
Simon at Promaz will tune most ecu's and i'll speak to him on his recomendations when im at that stage.

Ive got receipts for my GTR being tuned at godzilla, lets just say the tune left alot to be desired...

Godzilla tuned my forester, the turbo 1zz corolla I built and supplied the basemap for my 2J. The tuning was fine, just on the rich side of things under full load. The forester and corolla are still going strong 40,000km+ each after the tunes

I've heard plenty of good reviews of godzilla so I'm fairly hopeful I'll get good results. It wasn't entirely my choice, the guy that did my fabrication outsources his tuning to godzilla, but he goes along and overseas the tune to make sure he's happy with it as ultimately I'm his customer not Godzilla's.
That said if I'm not happy with the tune I may end up taking it to EFI to see what they can do with it.
