A few answers....
No, you don't have to go through me. The links you see are part of a auction broker service which allows you to purchase from the Japanese Yahoo Auctions.
- Simply, sign up with the Ok!shon broker service.
- Then using PayPal, deposit funds to use for the auctions into your account.
- Find the stuff you want and bid on it by entering the auction URL (address) into the broker service "bid" section of your account.
- If you win the bid, the items get sent to the broker in Japan who then sends it onto you. Good eh?

I've used these and other broker services previously and this one seems the best and safest. Using PayPal to make transactions also adds a degree of security as I believe PayPal have dispute resolution procedures in place should something happen. AS well as, you have the security of PayPal rather than using your own CC ever time.
As for translation, I'm not sure if it's because I'm registered with the servise, BUT, at the top of the page is a menu item that says "TRANSLATE"

Hit it, and another page will pop up with the yahoo auction you are currently viewing. The page will be translated with the Jap text above and the Engrish text below it

Pretty cool! No more cut and paste!
On the broker site there is also a way (on the left menu somewhere) that you can work out exactly how much the item will ost you after all the shipping and fees are included. It returns the result in USD but it's easy enough to convert to AUD using
www.xe.com
Note, certain items they will now ship as they are either too big or too heavy so read their FAQ etc. and you should be a pro in no time
One other quick note, if the combined cost (including shipping etc.) of the items you are buying exceeds $1K, customs will grab it until you pay 10% GST and you'll need a customs broker (~$170) to get it cleared. BUT, if you brake up the shippment and it's under $1K, no GST and it goes straight to your door
One more catch, if you make two different shippments to the same address and they both meet up in customs at the same time, their combined total value will be used to see if they exceed $1K. You can always send each package to a different address (mom, friend, GF etc.) and customs can't touch it if under $1K each
Good luck... and happy bidding!
P.S. I've personally purchased well over $2K worth of gear using this service without a problem
