Ah Ghost and Tourer_V...my constant suppliers of JZX wisdom... (IMG:http://www.jzx100.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I just bought a JZX90 and want to see well over 200kW in stock turbo form...will these dumps handle it?

I noticed the Soarer guys used those Marlew dump pipes which look trick, but at $770 I'd rather save those pennies and fit the GT35r & Tial gate I have sitting in my cupboard.

Will these ebay dumps, free flowing zorst, FMIC, Greddy E-Manage and added boost = anywhere near 250kW? The Sin City Soarer did something similar...but I don't want to run 17.5psi or cams/gears...

Any real world opinions on these dumps? They look good enough for these figures...

^^^^ all the above mods will help with the 35r converion at any rate, runing cams and gears will make a noticable difference to the way the 35 spools and delivers boost.

By the way what size rear housing is your 35r?

...... If anyone is interested in a set of the aus ebay dumps ive still got myne sitting at home brand new, Sorry to hijack (IMG:http://www.jzx100.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

While that is true, I was specifically referring to the $1k dumps from Marlew...which obviously have no use in a single turbo application - sorry should have made myself clearer...

I've actually decided to stick with the standard twins and sell my 35r, it has a .82 rear and also have a Tial 38mm gate - all brand new.

I just bought a set of those exact same dumps off ebay...!

Would be sweet though (IMG:http://www.jzx100.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/ok.gif)

i'm a little concerned about how well these ebay ones will fit..

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-1JZGTE-UPGRA...1QQcmdZViewItem

if they're a bit thin, it wouldn't take much for them to 'pull' in the welding jig and not mount up properly.
or even a decent knock in postage. has anyone actually fitted them?
at least set that are seperate and have a bolt up flange can be 'adjusted'...
i'm not talking about the wastegates here, just keeping the 2 turbo outlets seperate.

i've gotta do something soon, mine has blown the flange gasket out where the cast Y joins the exhaust pipe and is getting a little louder now.

The link doesn't work? I assume you mean the ones I bought...which are;

have you fitted those dump pipes yet?
i've just bought the same ones from my friend, he was going to fit them to his JZX81 but they wont clear his steering rack...
the guy selling them claims they were made to fit the JZX70 and JZZ30.

i'll be attempting to fit them this weekend, start friday and see how i go.

JZZ30 has more clearance near the steering rack.
I have a manifold designed for a Soarer and it had to be modified to clear the steering on my JZX90.
Dont know about the JZA70 though.

Dumps are really the last mod you do on the exhaust side of things.

Though if you can't fit them yourself the money is better of going towards the big single (IMG:http://www.jzx100.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

i'm not interested in a single turbo
your right, the dump is the last thing i need to do on the exhaust side ... i've done the cat back, now it's the cat forward !!
i gotta do something as my exhaust has split at the exit of the engine bay, i've welded it up but it's the flexi joint so it will only crack again soon.
i had a look inside a standard Y join and it aint pretty in there, not much room either so a good smooth twin dump set up can only be an improvement.

i had emailed the guy selling them on eby and asked if they'd fit a jzx90 or if anyone had done it AND would he refund if they do not fit. he replied that they should fit but no one he knew has fitted them to a jzx90 and no refund, he claimed what models they were made to fit.
all i can say is they do not fit the jzx81 and that guy sold his to me rather than cut them up trying to fit them.

The only ones that will be guaranteed to fit are Marlews ones (www.soarercentral.com)

He had a c*nt of a time making them though! Cos the power-steering rack is in the path of the exit...

here's a shot of the entire dump and connector pipe. i guess the question will be whether it drops low enough and clears the steering before it sweeps back ?

(IMG:http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb143/Yokkachi/IMG_6692.jpg)

let you know by friday night or saturday ...

i didn't get to fit them, i contacted a friend who's fitted a few twin turbo pipes and he offered to talk me through the easy way of fitting them so i'll wait another 2 weeks till i do it..
anyway i removed the std dump pipe to cut out the factory consatina joint, i welded in a new solid join before refitting it.

while i had this out i also removed most of the turbo inlets and took some measurements between the where the new pipes should sit and the steering rack to check clearance ..... and it's too close to call !!!
