Down here in Australia meny people doubt the potential of 300 rear wheel kilowatts from a stock bottom end 1j, i plan to prove how wrong they are (IMG:http://www.jzx100.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/aggressive.gif)
Ive got a 93 chaser in a rare manual, im awaiting delivery of my Garrett GT3582BB (aka GT3540 or GT35R) 700hp ball bearing turbo. (I opted for the smaller exhaust housing of .82 to aid spool times and response). This will sit on a 6boost Merged Collector Steel manifold, which are one of , if not, the best manifolds for this application. Controlling this is a Turbosmart Pro Gate 48mm Wastegate. Microtech ltx12 computer with bosch coils Extensive heat wrap for exhaust and manifold and Turbo Blanket Hks Cam gears Bosch 044 in tank pump oil cooler big front mount intercooler. Just unsure of a couple items and seeking advise, as we will be running around 24psi(or what it takes to crack 300): Injectors???? 600cc? should be enough but someone else may know better Exhaust??? 3.5inch-4inch??? Anyone running a similar setup and if so what results have you achieved?? Any advise from the brains trust out there?? |

Hello hello
Yep it certainly is achievable, though be careful how much boost you put through it! I am running 20psi at the moment though my valve stem seals hate me... You would want a set of Sard 540 or 650cc injectors and a fuel pressure reg to keep everything safe |

300rwkw on a 1j is really easy to get... stock 1j engines have rumored to handle 400-450rwkw before things are needed such as rebuilding etc... My friend had a 1jz with a gt3540 and that thing pulled 335rwkw with a fucked clutch stock internals... he has 650cc injectors... anymore than that and it would be overkill for the car... he even thought that they were too big... With those mods listed you will have no issues reaching your goal (IMG:http://www.jzx100.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) 3.5" exhaust would be perfect.. Thats what i would be doing.. Also what degree are your cam gears... for this particular setup 272 degree cams would be perfect... it will run a bit rough on idle and down really low.. but be really good up top... my friend had 264 degree cams and changed them to 272 and noticed quite a difference...

Hell yeah, Thats screaming!!! 400rwkw is tough, real tough, balls in a vice tough. Let see an RB do that.........Gotta love the might Toyota! Not sure what degree the cams to be honest, i just bought them of a jap auction in my travels as a sort of final cherry on the cake deal, they certainly appear to be 272 but ill know when i get them in my hot little hand. Thanks for the tip mate. |

300rwkw should be easy. After all the 1J is just a 2J with different head and a shorter deck height (I think that's the term)
Good luck with the build and I hope to see vids of this beast when it's done. |

Get a 2835 or 3037 with 650cc injectors, ecu, fmic and 3" zorst and you got 300rwkw..
I'm planning on just getting a 3037 and some 650cc injectors and be done. That would easily push me into the 300's! 1j's are tough motors and 300 is nothing for the internals. |

Personally, I wouldn't bother with the 2J bottom but that's just me.
Speaking of head gaskets though, the OEM Toyota HG is a full metal head Gasket. Did you also know that a number of drag race teams in the US who run 6-7 sec 2JZ engines still use the factory HG. So unless you want a thicker HG then stock is more than capable. |

hi guys... Ive spent teh majority of this year building my 1j cressida. Its running a stock unopened motor. The motor has a gt35 with .63 rear housing, turbosmart 48mm gate, 600cc injectors, 044 fuel pump, cheap intercooler and ex. manifold. I am running a 2jz haltech custom plug and play computer. The car has a 3'' exhaust system. The car made 303rwkw on 19psi with a cracked exhaust manifold. 1js rock!!!

a gt35r is a big turbo, a .63 rear on a 35r flows about the same as a .82 on a 30r so extra response
without choking much in my opinion |

Bought the Trust TD06-25G turbo kit off jzx member MarkIIJzx90 and put it on, With 20psi, 2jz injectors, bosch 023 intank pump and Greddy FCD my jzx90 made 294rwkw hitting the speed cut in both 4th and top of 3rd gear.
Fuel ratios were sweet so havent felt any need to upgrade comp although the 180kay speed cut is a pain in the arse. First encounter with a jzx and JZ engine and they i dont think you can beat these cars in anyway. I drive it daily and been to over 10 drift practice days where it cops hours of abuse., Best part about it its never seen a car trailer or let me down at all. |
